Ice Cream Parlor

We like to take walks in our town and they often lead us to the ice cream parlor. Ava has caught on that if she says "outside walk?" It will usually end up with a treat. The weather has been a little risky the past couple of days, so we decided to take an umbrella. Ava loved playing with it so much she almost broke it. Ava's new thing is to run and jump, she actually gets a little air when she jumps. It was a fun family evening.

Family Looks

David bought me Photoshop last Christmas and to be honest I haven't had enough time to figure that darn program out. It's either hard or I have a 1 track mind and can't get my understanding around it. However this is something I created after about a half hour.

Who do you think Ava looks most like? Diane or Dave?

Bad Durkheim Wurstfest

There is a annual wine and sausage festival in a town called Bad Durkheim, about 40 minutes away. This event is huge and lots of fun. There's rides and food and many many drunk people, but we don't let them ruin it for us. This year Ava loved going on the rides but the Farris wheel was a HAPPY/SCARY experience. She would clap and scream then cry and say "all done Mama." It was a fun night.

Backyard Swimming

Swimming in the backyard. Rodenbach has a great town pool but sometimes we like to just keep it simple and swim in our backyard, plus we can fill the pool with warm water. . .
There are two separate swim dates shown in this blog:

August 2009 (under Mama supervision)

and May 2009 (under Papa supervision)

NO swim suite NO problem

Rainy Day Cookies

Today was a cold, windy, rainy day in Rodenbach so Ava and I decided to heat things up in the kitchen. I sewed a cute apron for her the other day so we decided to make chocolate chip cookies together. I had some pre-made dough in the fridge so the "mixing" was the easy part it was really just the rolling. Ava tried to help me but they looked more like pancakes then balls. As she watched them cook she would say "cookies, cookies Mum." She has begun saying Mum (without the accent) and says less of Mama, but Dave is still a solid clear "Papa!"

The cookies were yummy and I think Ava and I ate 3 or more each. We did save a few for Papa.
