The Shriners Circus

It was a bit chilly  in February but we were very excited to see the Shriners Circus!  It was military appreciation night which helped with the admissions price, we brought our own treats, glow sticks and goofy glasses.  It was such a fun and LOOOOOONG night!

Waiting outside for the doors to open

Meeting a few clowns face to face

Just a grumpy old Security Shriner

Having fun with the clown glasses

Let the show begin:

The show was really long and we didn't get out until after 9pm.

January 2013

We bought a new car!  It was sad to sell the truck but the military will only ship 1 vehicle when you PCS, so of course we choose the van.  Ava started Pre School in January so we needed to have a second vehicle.

Ava's first day of Pre K in Albuquerque at La Petite Academy.
It isn't as great as her school in England but those ladies can never be replaced.

Owen checking out the room.

After school we celebrated with ICE CREAM!

January can be a very cold month in NM.  We are talking 17F! We even got snow a few times!

Owen decided he loves marshmallows! So does Jessie...

Suzie, Jaxon, Grandma and Grandpa Miller all drove down to see us.  It is so fun to have family visit.  We took them to Ava's favorite places, the Aquarium and the Zoo.

Since Dave served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Australia, he has a special place in his heart for the country.  David's next door neighbor from St George (Jill Baker) married Ben Cluff and they live in Abq.  Ben also served a mission in Australia, so we got together to celebrate AUSTRALIA DAY.  We shared sausages on the barbie with onions, Ginger Beer (strongest Ginger Ale you have ever tasted) pavlova and Tim Tam Slams!

We created pin the bow tie on the Kangaroo.

Another Year Gone, Goodbye 2012

Having just spent a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa, we were feeling a little lonely on New Years Eve. We bought a cheap New Years party package, ordered some pizza and celebrated at home.  We haven't made many friends yet so there were no invites to come and play.  No matter I made David's favorite Australian dessert, Pavlova! Happy New Year!
