Work with Pops

Bring your kid to work day was a lot of fun for Ava.  She had to get up early and it was a little chilly but she made sure she was bundled.  I don't think she took her backpack or toque off all day.  They had lots of things set up for the kids to experience and touch, not all of it was specific to Dave's job but then if it was it might have been a long boring day for a 5 year old.

Finally a little sustenance after a long military filled morning.

Pre School Gradutation

Unfortunately on the second last day of school Ava used an awful choice of words when talking to another little girl.  I was so embarrassed and needed to have a serious teaching/learning moment with her.  We cancelled our trip to Explora (Albuquerque Science Center) and went home to write an apology letter. Serious tears were shed but hopefully Ava will never call anyone disgusting ever again.

Thank You gifts for the last day of school

The teachers at La Petite have been very good to Ava.  Arriving in the middle of a semester can be hard but Ava blended in perfectly due to their help.

Owen doing what he does best...TROUBLE

I can't believe she will be starting Kindergarten.

Graduation was a cute 50's theme.  I did my PTA part and sewed all the little girl poodle skirts.  I had to do them extremely cheap since it was all donations but I think they turned out great. The program was super fun with the kids singing and reciting what they want to be when they grow up.  Ava wasn't scared at all, most of the kids were nervous but Ava gave it all she had!

Thanks for all your support.  Now summer holidays start!

Easter 2013

Albuquerque weather sure took a cold turn but we were excited to go to the Squadron Easter Egg Hunt anyway.  Ava insisted on wearing her bunny ears. Let the official Easter season begin!

Finally this year the squadron had a decent looking, non ghetto Easter Bunny.  There have been some pretty scary ones in the past.

We drove to St George to spend Easter with the entire Miller family!  Our first activity was the Washington City Easter Treat Hunt just a few blocks from Grandmas house.  Dani and Ava excited to pick up treats.

Throwing treats on the ground was a lame way to celebrate but then I guess it's a lot cheaper and easier, look at all the kids!

Miller grand kids with their loot

It was such nice weather when we were there.  Grandpa set up the pool and the kids had a super fun time playing.  It was amazing to step on green grass again, I'm seriously missing the color green right now!

Grandpa made his famous old fashioned vanilla ice cream, so delicious!

After church on Sunday we took some family pictures.  It was really hard to get everyone looking forward and happy so we tried another look instead...Look goofy and say cheese.

Then it was time to find what the Easter Bunny left.

We had so much fun with Auntie Suzie at Fiesta Fun.

Yup that's what she picked to buy with her tickets..Vampire teeth and a Laffy Taffy.
